my family and i were really looking forward to authentic italian pizza. my dad found gusta pizza in florence, a friendly pizza joint popular among locals and tourists alike. i shared a margherita pie with my mom, which was a good amount for an early dinner. the dough was both chewy and fluffy and the tomato sauce was topped with a basil leaf and chunks of the most delicious mozzarella cheese.
in rome, we checked out another pizza place, where i got a white pizza with mozzarella cheese, oil, basil, broccoli, and mushrooms. in terms of toppings, this was my ideal pizza. but gusta pizza’s dough had such a flawless consistency that it has topped my list of favorite pizzas.
