collezione maramotti (maramotti collection).
my favorite part of my trip to italy was to the collezione maramotti. the venue is the old max mara fashion house, a renowned building for its use of natural light. achille maramotti, max mara’s founder, was fond of contemporary art, especially those of young, new artists, and the collection houses his hundreds of collected works. maramotti had a passion for art and fashion, and he wanted combine these interests into one.
there were a lot of art pieces that i enjoyed seeing on our private tour, especially those that were plays on rodchenko and mondrian’s works that i learned about in my twentieth century art course. i was particularly excited to see a piece by vito acconci, an artist that i find to be very amusing.
